ticketgenie.com – Your Source to buy Concert Tickets, Sports Tickets and Theater Tickets...

Members of the Jets’ Flight Crew were doing a promotion outside of Penn Station/ MSG this morning. They were kind enough to give a quick pose for the paparazzi. Not a bad way to start the work day....

While I understand your thoughts and concerns about higher power bills as a customer, I cannot understand why your opinion on the topic should be valid or why you feel government should get involved.
First of all, there is a reason the terms "30 and 50%" are used in describing rate hikes. It's because they sound more horrible than saying electric rates are going up 3 cents. It generates a mild panic because 30 and 50 sound so much larger than 3. 3 cents isn't as much as the 5 cents that gas prices are allowed to rise overnight and then go up again 3 days later. I haven't seen a blog about government capping gas prices.
And as far as groin kicks go. I guess I received a kick to the groin one Saturday when I walked up to one of your newspaper machines and deposited 50 cents and pulled the handle. Nothing happened. I had been ripped off. So, I hit the coin return and put the 2 quarters back in the machine. Again, it looked as though I was trying to steal newspapers! I then happened to glance at the newly posted price on the machine. Ah, a paper was now 75 cents. I didn't have the third quarter with me so I returned home with no paper.
Funny how the price of a newspaper went up 50% overnight. No explanation necessary, no government intervention and the best part is the price is determined by what coinage your machines accept! It didn't go up 5 cents or 10 cents to offset the rising costs you were incurring but instead it rose a quarter. The paper had not changed, if anything it got smaller, there were more advertisments and the machine was not new. Were was the money going?
I know a newspaper and electric utility are vastly different and one is a necessity and the other is optional. However, it is wrong for one utility to be ostracized while others can do whatever they want with rates. Fight the cell phone companies that charge innocent saps a text messaging fee just because someone has their phone number and sends them a pointless picture. They charge you whether you want it or not and it could be as much as a quarter. (or 2 1/2 kilowatts at the new rate)
I know your job is to report and offer opinions. Just keep in mind that your opinions about other businesses may ultimately lead to opinions about your product.
