Pittsburgh should sign Marc Bulger, the veteran QB St. Louis just released. He would be a solid alternative if Big Ben can’t play this year — or as I think should happen — the team cuts him. Bulger is better than Charlie Batch and Dennis Dixon. He played well when the Rams had a decent team and he can play well on the Steelers.
Team officials have basically said they are content without a back up plan until Big Ben’s investigation comes to a close. But that could be to late for the 2010 season. Bring in Bulger and have a decent alternative to salvage a productive offense — and cut Santonio Holmes, too.
